Palmdale — Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy D. Baca reaffirmed his promise Wednesday to a lunch crowd at the Palmdale Chamber of Commerce meeting to be tough on crime and provide sheriff’s deputies in the Antelope Valley with additional support.

In his speech to a room full of students, teachers and businesspeople, Baca reinstated key points, including helping at-risk youths, adding more deputies and community policing, he stated in the Antelope Valley War on Gangs and Crime's organization’s first meeting in February.

“I think we are doing the things that are necessary to establish that we are going to go after the gang problem in this fine desert, and we are not stopping until the last one is out of town or learns how to live life respectfully,” Baca said.
